How to AirPlay your audio when in a Zoom meeting
Have you been trying to AirPlay a Zoom meeting to your classroom projector, only to find the audio still coming from your MacBook's speakers?
You're not alone! For whatever reason, it looks like Zoom actually ignores the default audio output of your MacBook.
The good news is that this is a super easy fix — here's how to route your Zoom audio through your projector speakers when AirPlaying:
- Start your meeting, and AirPlay to the projector just like you normally would.
- Look for the small ^ icon right beside the microphone mute / unmute icon (this is typically at the bottom-left of your Zoom window). Click this icon, and under 'Select a speaker' choose the name of the Apple TV you're connected to.
In the example below, 'Living Room' is the name of my connected Apple TV.
- That's it! Your Zoom audio should now be emitting from your projector's speakers.
