How to stop Google Chrome from constantly asking for 2-step verification.
Staff Google accounts must have 2-Step verification enabled due to their access to private school systems and students' confidential data. If you're curious, we have some information on what 2-step verification is (along with how to enable it and some frequently asked questions) right here.
2-Step verification should only require you to verify with your phone number (or another device) the first time that you sign into a new device (along with the occasional, infrequent re-verification).
If Chrome is asking you for verification every time you open it, this isn't expected behaviour, but it can usually be resolved quickly by removing and re-adding the problematic Chrome profile. Here's how:
How to remove and re-add your Chrome profile:
- Open Google Chrome and (if required) sign in to your school Google account.
- Click on your profile icon in the upper-right of the Google Chrome window, and then click on the settings cog next to 'Other Profiles'.

- Click the three vertical dots in the upper-right of the profile you're having issues with, and then choose 'Delete'. In the pop-up that appears, confirm that you'd like to remove the profile.

- Now that we've removed your problematic profile, click on the 'Add' button.
- Proceed to sign in to your account again. This will require you to verify via 2-step verification.

- After inputting your verification code, you'll see a message noting that 'your organization will manage this profile'. Click Continue.
- You'll then be asked to sync the information from your account. This will automatically bring back your bookmarks, installed extensions, and more. Click Yes, I'm in.

- That's it! We'd now suggest that you quit Google Chrome, and confirm that you're not asked to input a verification code when you open the app again.
