Approving YouTube Videos for your School

YouTube has advanced filters that hide inappropriate and unsuitable content from students. No filter is perfect so occasionally videos that are student friendly may be blocked. As a teacher, you can approve videos for all students to watch.

Approving a Single YouTube Video 

  1. Open Google Chrome on your computer.
  2. Navigate to https://www.youtube.com/.
  3. Sign in using your school email and password. If you're already signed in, you can skip this step.
  4. Search for the video you would like to approve.
  5. At the bottom of the of the video player click "Approve".

Approving an entire YouTube channel

  1. Open Google Chrome on your computer.
  2. Navigate to https://www.youtube.com/.
  3. Sign in using your school email and password. If you're already signed in, you can skip this step.
  4. Search for the channel you would like to approve. 
  5. At the top of the channel click "Approve".
