What's a Classmate Liaison?
We rely on Classmate Liaisons to be point-person when it comes to the faculty, the facilities, and the technology within their school. Rest assured, we don't expect you to be an expert in any of that — just being responsive and engaged is more than enough! Your help has a direct impact on our success so, in other words, we're in this together.
Communication
First and foremost, it's best to communicate early and often. You can reach us by submitting a request, or by giving us a phone call. Likewise, we'll keep you informed as we receive details and need your help. If you haven't already, please submit a request and introduce yourself as the Classmate Liaison of your school.
Ask for Help
While it's been called many things in the past, the Classmate Liaison is not a new role. In schools that have had one (or more) for years, the undeniable path to success has always been asking for help. Whether you need something clarified from us, or some extra hands from your coworkers, asking for help will make everything easier.
Examples
Here are some examples where we might ask for your help:
- We're trying to understand if a subscription to Office 365 for all staff is still necessary but we're not getting responses from staff. We ask you to follow up with staff so they complete the Google Form, or collect the results yourself (either one-on-one or in a staff meeting).
- The school has ordered 30x new iPads and a 1x new iPad cart. The tracking info says it's been delivered so we ask you to verify all items have, in fact, been delivered and we ask where they're being stored within the school.
- The school has decided they'd like to help by unboxing the new iPads, disposing of the recycling, and placing them in the new cart. We provide you with detailed instructions (with pictures) which you can either complete or delegate. We ask you to let us know when it's complete so we can schedule a time to visit the school and complete the set up.
