How to Reset Locked Accounts on Shared iPads
Student accounts may be locked for various reasons; from students forgetting their passcodes, to forgetting to log out of a previously used iPad. The great news is that teachers have the ability to reset student passcodes from any device!
- Open your web browser and navigate to school.apple.com.
- Log in using your teacher managed Apple ID. If you do not know your managed Apple ID or forgot your password, please send us a support request and we'll happily sort it out with you.
- On the left-hand side, choose Users.

- Select the student's name and choose Reset Password. If the Reset Password option is not visible, you may see an option labelled Create Sign-In or Reset Shared iPad Passcode (they all do the same thing).

- Create a temporary 4-digit passcode. Once a student logs in, they will be prompted to change the code. The temporary passcode and the new passcode cannot be the same.
- You're done!
