Troubleshooting Bretford Charging Carts
Is a row of iPads not charging in your Bretford cart? Even worse, is the entire cart not charging?
Bretford carts charge iPads in cycles, so it's normal for not all iPads to be charging at once. That being said, If an entire row (or more) are not charging, then you'll need to take a closer look.
Check for these simple solutions first.
- Verify the cart is plugged into a working power outlet.
- Verify the power switch on the side of the cart is flipped to the ON position. In most carts, this switch will be lit when the cart is on. Flipping the switch to OFF and then back ON can sometimes help too.
- Check the power cable for any damage. If you're unsure if it's damaged, snap a photo of the cord and send it to us.
Still no luck?
Here are some troubleshooting steps if the entire cart isn't charging.
- Remove the dividers beneath slots 35-40 from the cart. Reseat the power cable to the right of slot 40 behind the metal divider.


Here are some troubleshooting steps if an entire row isn't charging.
- Remove dividers 18-20 and expose the 2 power cables behind them.
- Reseat both power cables.

- If the row is still not turning on, toggle the power switch on the right side of the row and reseat the power cable as well.
